This year the challenge not only seeks to help fund the development of the Ghana Ski Team and there Journey to the 2010 Winter Olympics. We aim to help develop young ski talent, but also looks at giving back to the local community and supporting our partner charities, Snowleopard Conservation Trust(www.snowleopard.org), The Sabre Trust (www.sabretrust.org) & The Snow Camp (www.snow-camp.co.uk).

The community aspect of the challenge is to introduce 12 youngsters within the local community to snowsports. These young people (chosen by the Hemel Hempstead Council and other volunteer groups) are under privileged youth, who would otherwise not be able to afford to take up snowsports.

Snowleopard Challenge have teamed up with the Snowleopard Conservation Trust to educate and bring snowsports enthusiasts closer to the threatened Snowleopard, since after all they both share a passion for the same natural environment. www.snowleopard.org

Sabre Charitable Trust is a micro-charity working with the Education Authorities and rural communities to enhance education provision through Whole School Improvement Programmes in Ghana. www.sabretrust.org Snow-Camp is a youth charity providing disadvantaged young people from London's inner city areas with the chance to experience mountain sports. As well as offering the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard, during a week's stay in the French Alps, Snow-Camp includes a Life-Skills course designed to enable young people to reflect on the key issues that impact their lives. www.snow-camp.co.uk
